Office Spotlight: Inside Pinterest Los Angeles

a room with a couch and tables and lamps

In January 2026, Pinterest opened a brand new office location in Culver City, California for our Los Angeles team. Today, our Design and Construction team joins Life at Pinterest to take you on a journey behind the scenes. You’ll get an exclusive peek inside the office and learn more about the inspiration behind bringing this space to life. Welcome to Pinterest LA!

Set in the heart of Culver City, Pinterest’s LA office is a celebration of cinema, an immersive workplace inspired by the city’s legendary role as a film backdrop and production hub. The concept centers on the duality of the creative journey: the Studio, where ideas are formed and refined, and the Front Stage, where the final vision comes to life. Guided by the rhythm of production, from behind-the-scenes hustle to showtime polish, the space captures the energy of making. It’s a workplace that feels kinetic, expressive, and cinematic, echoing the creative momentum that turns inspiration into something real.

Reception (Endless Summer)

The Reception is a dedicated arrival experience, designed to feel instantly and unmistakably Pinterest. Minimal and considered, the space offers a calm, luminous first impression for employees and guests alike: a quiet celebration of California's endless summer.

Natural light floods the space, complemented by custom banquette seating, a sculpted acoustical ceiling, and lush graphics across a soft, light palette. At the heart of the space, the grid wall is a physical manifestation of the Pinterest app, bringing the inspiration off-screen and into real life.

Executive Business Center (Classic Hollywood)

The EBC is a fully enclosed, dedicated destination within the office, designed for privacy, hosting, and high-touch client experiences. The suite includes a pre-function bar for happy hours and informal gatherings, a boardroom, a conference room, and a nearby focus room for quick calls.

The design draws from the Art Deco details that shaped classic Hollywood's most iconic interiors: sculptural curves, symmetry, and rich materiality. Warm woods and brass and gold tones establish a sense of quiet glamour, while a fresh furniture palette keeps the space feeling current and welcoming. Patterned wall graphics pay homage to LA's own El Capitan Theater, grounding the space in its local context.

Themed Conference Room - Western

A modern, elevated take on Western iconography, the space is designed to feel fresh and modern rather than themed. Iconic patterns and a classic color palette are woven throughout, while leather fixtures, denim upholstered chairs, belt buckle details, and landscape artwork root the room firm in the genre but refined for today’s workplace.

Themed Conference Room - Film Noir

Inspired by the classic Film Noir genre, this meeting room has been transformed into a fully realized detective agency. Rather than leaning into the expected black and white palette, the concept reimagines the genre through rich, atmospheric detail – a mystery clue driven cork wall, hidden discoveries tucked into drawers, a vintage writing desk, type writer and dramatic window film casting the shadow of venetian blinds across the room.

Barista (The Listening Bar)

Modeled after a retro listening bar – because cinema is inseparable from music. This space pairs mid-century silhouettes with curated vintage accents. Earthy tones and warm textures create a cozy, lounge-like atmosphere where you can grab a coffee, settle in, and work or dine with an easy, ambient vibe.

Focus Rooms (Film backstage themed)

To celebrate the meticulous planning and craft that happens behind the scenes, each focus room is individually styled around a key role in filmmaking: set designer, costume designer, director of photography, screenwriter, and illustrator. Beyond the storytelling, the rooms are built for serious work. Ergonomic sit stand workstation, monitor arms, dimmable fixtures and individual temperature control ensure that every employee has everything they need to work at their best, whatever the scene calls for.
