Office Spotlight: Inside Pinterest Dublin

Written by Life at Pinterest Team

In April, our Workplace team opened the doors to a new office location for Pinterest Dublin, home to our EMEA headquarters. From a Pinterest board to opening day, the team is spotlighting six work spaces with beautiful features that incorporate elements from Ireland’s rich culture. Welcome to the new Pinterest Dublin!

1. All Hands

Inspired by manor houses of the Irish countryside, our All-Hands area features details such as a coffered ceiling, decorative moldings and an electric mix of furniture to celebrate the traditional style of these homes. Our audio and visual wall is adorned with our twist of the “Pin Grid,” which features embroidered and tufted “Pin” panels. The display screen is highlighted with a gilded frame so that it resembles a painting that would hang above a fireplace in the home.

2. The Celtic Forest

The Celtic Forest brings an ancient forest into our modern office. Filled with biophilic elements and sounds of the weather (that actually sync with the weather outside), our employees have the opportunity to work, focus and collaborate in this immersive experience. This area features workstations in different configurations and ancillary furniture that support a variety of ways to work.

3. The Pub (with the Snug)

Traditionally the social hub of the community, here the Pub has been reimagined as part of the “Stormy Seas” of Ireland, complete with nautical nods, traditional painted paneling and a “stormy” color palette. Upon entering, you are greeted with a bespoke mosaic floor and hand-painted pub sign. The central area features a group of cozy booths with nautical themed lights above. The walls of the pub are adorned with an eclectic mix of marine objects, including an illuminated diorama of an underwater scene.

The pub wouldn’t be complete without a snug! Our snug includes gaming options for our employees, with walls that include sailor tattoo inspired graphics.

4. The Long Hall

This quiet corner away from the busy hubbub of the office takes its inspiration from the nearby Trinity College library. Shelving with arching details and carved corbels provide reading nooks which can be used as heads-down working spaces.

The little hidden room off the library is a black and white graphic representation of a living room with Celtic designs inspired by illustrations from the Book of Kells.

5. Meeting Rooms

The new office has unique meeting rooms inspired by pieces of Dublin's culture - for example, the iconic rail system. Upon entering this conference room, you are instantly transported into a passenger of the rail and surrounded by the distinct green and yellow interior color palette. The acoustic panels and bench seating are upholstered in the exact fabric used for rail seats and the “windows” that look outward include images of the picturesque stops along the route.

6. Focus Rooms

The Dublin office includes a multitude of non-bookable, drop-in spaces to support employees throughout the day. Depending on their location along the journey through Ireland, each focus room is designed with its own personality.
