Throughout April, we’re participating in a Global Month of Service to honor Earth Month and Global Volunteer Month. Meet Yahisbel Adames, São Paulo Impact Ambassador and Editor, Hispanic LATAM. Yahisbel shares more about her role at Pinterest, what giving back means to her and how Pinterest Brazil is showing up for their community.

Working at Pinterest

As an editor for Spanish-speaking countries at Pinterest, I use my editorial skills combined with a cultural perspective to create content strategies that impact diverse audiences on the platform. Since joining Pinterest in 2021, my focus has been on increasing user engagement and expanding Pinterest's reach in the Hispanic world, in collaboration with the Global Content Organization.

Inspiring impact

I've always been passionate about social causes. Since I was a teenager, I've participated in fundraising for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and in movements defending human rights and the environment. Before Pinterest, I worked on an online petition platform, which brought me even closer to this world. I instructed petitioners on their campaigns from the beginning, developing strategies to gather signatures, to the end, delivering the petitions to decision-makers. This process made me realize my ability to handle complex narratives and inspire action, creating a commitment to promoting significant change—both within organizations and throughout society.

Global Month of Service

I was extremely grateful to see all the work that my fellow ambassadors from the Brazil office carried out to make the Global Month of Service activity a reality (a big thank you to Carolina Carvalho, Felipe Galo, and Marília Lima). We partnered with Atados to hold a volunteer day at the institution Núcleo Bolha de Sabão, where the staff created a sensory garden for the children. This was the third time we've held an activity related to Earth Month here with the Brazilian team, and it's gratifying to see the engagement grow each year.
