Head to Sydney with us to meet Adam King, Sr. Industry Manager. In this article, Adam discusses what led him to Pinterest, our new office space in Sydney, attending events and more about our culture.

Hi Adam! We’d love to learn more about what led you to the opportunity at Pinterest in 2023 and your role as a Sr. Industry Manager.

Joining Pinterest in 2023 felt like the right move at the right time. I'd been watching the platform grow in commercial relevance for brands and when the Sr. Industry Manager role came up, it genuinely excited me. The role sits at that intersection of relationships, strategy and creativity which is where I do my best work. What sealed it was the culture I sensed during the interview process. There was a warmth and intentionality to how people showed up that you don't always find, and I wanted to be part of that.

In 2025, Pinterest opened a brand new office in the heart of Sydney. Which part of the office inspires you to do your best work?

The Sydney office is unlike any workspace I've been in. The design draws inspiration from Dorothea Mackellar's iconic poem My Country and once you know that, you see it everywhere. The earthy ochres, the warm Australian tones, the nods to our sunburnt landscape woven into the textures throughout the space. It feels unmistakably Australian in the most considered way. But beyond how beautiful it looks, the layout is designed to bring people together. Collaboration happens naturally here, and it's a space that makes you proud to bring a client into every single time.

Of the Pinterest values, which one resonates with you the most and why?

For me it's Create Belonging and what makes it special is that it shows up everywhere, not just as a value on a wall.

In our perks and culture, Kids Day is the perfect example. My kids will tell you it's the best day of their year, and that says everything about a company that extends belonging beyond the employee to their whole family.

In our everyday operations, you feel it in how teams show up for each other, the intentionality behind how people are supported and the genuine investment in making sure everyone has a seat at the table.

And then in the product itself. From being a platform that is welcoming and positive by design, to innovations like our body type technology that ensure people see themselves authentically represented in the content they're served. Belonging is genuinely embedded in what we build. When what you put into the world reflects what you live internally, that's when you know a value is real.

In your role, you have the opportunity to attend a variety of Pinterest events. What do you enjoy about these events and which one has been the most memorable for you?

One of the real highlights of this role is the experiences you get to be part of on behalf of Pinterest. There's something powerful about representing a brand you believe in outside of the office and it deepens relationships with clients and partners in a way a meeting room never could.

The most memorable has to be Cairns Crocs. It's become the moment for the Australian industry to come together – fun, energetic and genuinely collaborative. What makes it special is that Pinterest isn't on the periphery of that experience, we're at the core of it. Those are the moments that build real long-term relationships, and I think that says a lot about how Pinterest shows up in this market.

Why should someone join Pinterest in Sydney?

Honestly, where do I start? You get to work for a platform that is fundamentally positive. People come to Pinterest to feel inspired, and that energy carries into the workplace too. The Sydney office is world-class, the team has built something really special in terms of culture, and you'll be genuinely challenged and supported in equal measure. Every now and then, your kids will also have the best day of their year. If you're looking for a place where the work is meaningful, the people are genuinely good and there's a real opportunity to grow, Pinterest Sydney is it.
