Every September 15, we commence the celebration of Latiné Heritage Month, which also marks the independence celebrations of various Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Chile and Belize.

We take this time each year to highlight and celebrate our Latin@ employee resource group members who work and live across the globe, representing their Latiné roots. It’s a time of year that reminds us all that while our backgrounds may differ, our shared connections to one another are the foundation of this month’s celebration.

Our theme: Mi Gente / Minha Gente

This year’s theme Mi Gente / Minha Gente highlights solidarity, mutual support, collective strength and belonging. Celebrating Latiné Heritage Month helps Latin@ members forge bonds and connections through our shared Latiné identity as we simultaneously honor the diversity of each of our cultures and unique and vibrant personal experiences.

Celebrating on Pinterest

Pinterest offers a platform to spotlight the influence of Latiné culture across the world within fashion, sports, music, beauty and wellness and cuisine. Creators have curated content to provide you endless inspiration such as the 100% Latiné music starter pack and the cultural inspiration with fashion and beauty

We are also featuring local and regional Latiné businesses and brands within the US in our annual Business Guide. We provide this internally curated list as a resource for employees to support the city or community where they work.

How the Pinterest team is recognizing LHM

Latiné Heritage Month is a key pillar of our diversity and inclusion efforts and a way to live our value of Create Belonging. From personal development workshops, Cafecitos (group coffee chats) with senior leaders, virtual radio shows spotlighting Latiné musicians, community book clubs and cooking demos, our celebrations this month are designed to provide a range of opportunities for Latiné employees and allies to connect. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone can learn, engage and appreciate the diverse Latiné culture.

Whether you’ve been at Pinterest for a few years or just joining our team, we invite all members and allies to join and celebrate with the Latin@ community as we highlight the global fusion and influence of Latinos worldwide.
