Discover a career where you ignite innovation for millions, transform passion into growth opportunities, celebrate each other’s unique experiences and embrace the flexibility to do your best work. Creating a career you love? It’s Possible.

At Pinterest, AI isn't just a feature, it's a powerful partner that augments our creativity and amplifies our impact, and we’re looking for candidates who are excited to be a part of that. To get a complete picture of your experience and abilities, we’ll explore your foundational skills and how you collaborate with AI.

Through our interview process, what matters most is that you can always explain your approach, showing us not just what you know, but how you think. You can read more about our AI interview philosophy and how we use AI in our recruiting process here.

At Pinterest, our mission is to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and as a Technical Program Manager focused on Identity, you will play a critical role in protecting that experience. You will sit at the intersection of account integrity, abuse prevention, and safety for sensitive populations (including teens), ensuring that people can confidently discover ideas without worrying about account compromise, spam, or harmful content. You will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Operations to define strategy and deliver large, multi-year programs across identity, account access, bots and automation abuse, age assurance, and safety controls. This is a highly cross-functional role with broad visibility and impact across the company.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead company-level Identity & Product Safety programs
    • Own the multi-year roadmap and execution plan for how we protect people’s identities and accounts across Pinterest, from sign-up and login through everyday use.
    • Own programs that cut across multiple teams and organizations (for example, modernizing identity and access, hardening account recovery, and reducing bots and account takeover) from problem framing through launch and steady state.
    • Work with safety, product, and policy partners to design and ship mechanisms that protect people from scams, fraud, and other abuses (for example, deceptive content patterns, unsafe click-outs, and abuse of commercial surfaces).
    • Support cross-functional initiatives that improve age detection, age-appropriate experiences, and compliance with applicable youth safety regulations.
  • Provide technical and domain leadership in Identity & Product Safety
    • Become a go-to partner for senior engineers, data scientists, and PMs on how identity, access, safety, and abuse systems fit together end‑to‑end.
    • Bring structure to complex technical and safety problems—clarifying risks, trade-offs, and options so teams can make high-quality decisions quickly.
  • Own program governance, communication, and metrics
    • Design and run lightweight but rigorous mechanisms (reviews, health checks, incident follow-ups) that keep identity and safety investments aligned with company priorities.
    • Define and maintain metrics that connect engineering work to real outcomes (for example, fewer account takeovers and spam incidents, better recovery success, and stronger verified/age-appropriate coverage).
  • Use AI to accelerate program execution (AI‑first TPM)
    • Use generative AI as a default accelerator for drafting and refining roadmaps, briefs, status updates, and decision summaries, while holding a high bar for validation and safety.
    • Partner with engineers and data teams to experiment with AI-powered helpers and workflows that reduce program-management toil and improve signal quality for decisions.
  • Partner deeply across the company
    • Build durable, trust-based relationships with Engineering, Product, Trust & Safety, Operations, Policy and Legal teams, ensuring identity and safety programs are grounded in real-world needs and constraints.
    • Drive clear, timely communication so that executives, on-call responders, and frontline teams understand what is changing, why it matters, and how success will be measured.

What we’re looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience in technical program management or a similar role driving large, cross-functional engineering programs.
  • Experience working in trust & safety, security, identity, integrity, or related problem spaces (such as anti-abuse, fraud, account access, or privacy) at consumer or enterprise scale.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly on complex technical domains (e.g., identity and access management, large-scale detection systems, platform and infrastructure, and experimentation) and collaborate effectively with senior engineers.
  • Proven track record of helping teams make sound technical trade-offs under ambiguity, sequencing work to de-risk the hardest problems early.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure and deliver multi-quarter programs with multiple teams, dependencies, and stakeholders across organizations.
  • Strong command of program governance (charters, milestones, dependency/risk management, metrics) and the discipline to keep programs on track without over-rotating to process.
  • Deep empathy for people whose accounts or experiences are at risk, and a bias toward building durable protections instead of one-off fixes.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices for account security, abuse prevention, and safety and integrity measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to use generative AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day work (for example, drafting, synthesizing, and analyzing program artifacts and data), with a clear approach to validating accuracy and mitigating risks.
  • Comfort working with data and basic tooling (dashboards, metrics, lightweight analysis) and partnering with data science to define, interpret, and act on integrity and safety metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex, technical issues into clear narratives for executives, engineers, operations, and policy partners.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence without formal authority across engineering, product, design, operations, and legal/policy.
  • Proven ability to take ambiguous, cross-org problems and turn them into clear, actionable programs with owners, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Track record of mentoring other TPMs or technical leaders and raising the quality bar for program management practices on your teams.

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
