Ben Rojas, Sr. Account Manager, has been at Pinterest for six years creating impact for brands around the world. Read Ben’s story to learn more about growing your Sales career, the inspiration behind working at Pinterest and our new Dublin office.

Thanks for joining us, Ben! Let's begin with a quick introduction to you and your Pinterest journey.

I’m Ben Rojas, a Sr. Account Manager in Retail, overseeing the home decor sector. I’ve been at Pinterest for six years, having started in 2018 as a Partner Marketing Specialist. Back then, our focus was entirely on international growth and building the foundation for the Pinterest Europe we know today.

With our European ads business rolling out, it was the perfect time for me to seek the next internal job opportunity. I became one of the first DACH Account Managers to get the German ads business off the ground. Since then, I’ve worked with the world's largest brands to unlock their potential on Pinterest. Today, I work in a more verticalized focus – specifically home decor. Furthermore, I've become a subject matter expert in EMEA and have been actively involved in enhancing our shopping product for both Pinners and advertisers. Aside from these responsibilities, I mentor new hires and account managers, conduct training sessions and have spoken at various webinars and conferences.

Your career journey is very unique. What was your path to Pinterest?

After graduating from university, I found myself unsure of the specific company or job I wanted to pursue. However, I knew that I wanted to explore as many areas in marketing as possible – from working in a startup and experiencing life abroad, to trying self-employment and finally joining a large global company. My journey began in event management in the music industry, after which I transitioned to print marketing for a publishing company. Both roles provided invaluable insights, but I realized that neither sparked my long-term passion. I then transitioned to After Sales Marketing for one of the world's largest automotive companies.

Driven by my desire for a more dynamic, growing company, I started considering other career opportunities. Pinterest was among the job offers I received. I believed in the platform's mission and the various learning opportunities Pinterest offered. During my tenure here, I’ve made greater career steps than I think I would have elsewhere.

Pinterest Dublin recently opened a new office. What do you love most about the new space?

I’ve worked in several offices throughout my career, but this Pinterest office sets a new standard in every possible way. I really love that it combines inspiring design with collaborative and focused areas. You can work in various spaces that incorporate Irish culture while bringing Pinterest and our mission for inspiration to life for all employees. From St. Stephen’s Bean to the Long Hall library and the Atlantic sand dunes, the atmosphere reflects cultural and natural elements. My absolute favorite is the Celtic Forest - a calm and focused space nestled among plants with smooth bird chirping, mirroring the outside weather.

What inspires you?

Definitely the amazing people I work with at Pinterest every day. They inspire me to become the best version of myself. Also, it's fascinating and truly inspiring to hear the positive feedback from people when they discover where I work – whether it's our clients, Pinners or even those who don't use Pinterest yet. People generally have a very positive perception of Pinterest, and that's incredibly motivating for me.

Last question, what are you currently Pinning?

Travel destinations and photography, specifically how to edit photos.
