As we celebrate Latiné Heritage Month, travel with us from San Francisco to Dublin to meet members of our Latin@ employee resource group.

Layla Leal, Product Designer II, San Francisco

As a Brazilian product designer at Pinterest, my heritage inspires me to celebrate inclusion, encourage moments of collaboration, and build genuine connections with my colleagues. During Latiné Heritage Month, I’m proud to share the creativity and community spirit from my culture, which guide both my approach to design and the relationships I cultivate with my team.

Sebastian Vasquez, Business Intelligence Analyst II, Los Angeles

As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Pinterest, creativity, grit, and curiosity are needed for lasting success in the data field. My Colombian roots and immigrant journey deeply shaped these qualities in me. When I’m lost in hundreds of lines of SQL or facing a tough technical challenge, my background helps me find my footing, discover unique solutions, and tap into unexpected resources. Data is one of my languages, creativity is its accent.

Stephanie Bertmer, Director, Talent Development, Los Angeles

As a Director of Talent Development at Pinterest, my background shows up most in how I approach work through genuine collaboration rooted in shared success. Growing up in a culture that values community shaped my leadership style. I've found that when people feel genuinely connected, they perform at their highest level. That's why we focus on developing both the skills and the mindset that enable people to work together effectively for collective success.

Matias Aguilera, Manager II, Vendor Management Operations, Dublin

As a Latin American that lives very far from home, I love working at a company that really values inclusion and belonging. Coming from Argentina, I’m super proud of my roots: I carry the rhythm of tango, the passion for soccer, the smell of a good steak, and the strength of the Andes in my heart.

These traditions have taught me about resilience, community, and passion—things that shape the way I connect with people. In a company of many cultures like Pinterest, my heritage teaches me to listen deeply, collaborate openly, and honor every story. It also reminds me to embrace difference as strength: together, our backgrounds create harmony, resilience, and true inclusion.

Thabata Camirra, Measurement Lead, UK Retail, London

It’s hard to define exactly who I am or where I belong. I spent the first 27 years of my life in Caracas, where I was born and raised. Later, I moved to Bogotá, where I fell in love, and then to Buenos Aires—a place that helped me rethink my career growth and aspirations. My Portuguese heritage also opened the door for me to move to the UK, where I currently live with my husband and son.

Having the chance to immerse myself in so many different cultures has made me a proud Latin American. I do my best to connect with Spanish-speaking colleagues, embrace my Caribbean outlook on life (I’m quite relaxed), and teach my 2.5-year-old son how to dance salsa and reggaeton.
