Pinterest is growing — its platform, advertiser base, and cultural footprint are all expanding. Marketing and Communications are central to how the company tells its story, builds trust with partners, and shows up for its users. The Chief of Staff to the CMO and Chief Communications Officer is a senior individual contributor role focused on the effectiveness of both executives — ensuring their time reflects strategic priorities, they are well-prepared for every high-stakes moment, and the cross-functional work that requires their direct sponsorship has the structure and momentum to land.

This role is scoped to the executives themselves. Organizational operations, resource planning, team-wide processes, and broad AI strategy and adoption for MC2 are owned by a dedicated operations function — one that the Chief of Staff works alongside in close, day-to-day collaboration. The two are designed to be complementary, with clear ownership and a shared commitment to the organization's success.

Collaboration is foundational to how this role operates. Whether partnering with the Communications team to support the CMO's messaging, working with EABPs to connect calendars to strategic priorities, or driving C-suite-sponsored initiatives across functions, success here is built on trust, influence, and the ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with the CMO's and CCO's EABPs to connect calendar decisions to strategic priorities. The Chief of Staff owns the intent behind how executive time is allocated; EABPs own scheduling, logistics, and day-to-day calendar execution
  • Prepare the CMO and CCO for high-stakes engagements — Board presentations, executive reviews, and external forums — developing materials, pre-briefs, and framing documents, post-lookbacks and action items
  • Serve as the CMO's proxy in select informational meetings, exercising sound judgment on what to handle independently vs. escalate
  • Partner with and influence the Communications team on the CMO's executive messaging, thought leadership, and company-wide narrative providing strategic priorities and context; Communications owns voice development and execution
  • Design and lead company-wide leadership moments including All Hands, leadership forums, and strategic planning forums in close collaboration with Communications and other key partners
  • Apply AI tools to support the CMO's executive communications and thought leadership; the Chief of Staff's AI ownership is scoped to executive narrative. Broader AI strategy and adoption for MC2 sit separately, with the Chief of Staff serving as an active collaborator
  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives requiring C-suite sponsorship from problem definition through execution and measurement
  • Build accountability frameworks, decision rights clarity, and strategic reporting that give the CMO and CCO visibility into their highest-priority work
  • Lead the onboarding and integration of incoming senior leaders in partnership with HR including stakeholder mapping, relationship acceleration, and organizational orientation
  • Design and facilitate culture-defining moments for the MC2 organization and cross-functional leadership community, including offsites, strategic forums, and leadership summits

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, program management, executive communications, management consulting, or a Chief of Staff-type role, with demonstrated impact at the senior leadership level
  • Proven track record leading high-stakes, cross-functional programs from inception through execution with a high degree of autonomy
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to write in an executive's voice with authenticity and precision
  • Experience designing operating cadences, accountability frameworks, and decision-making structures in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Experience building trust with and influencing senior executives and cross-functional partners, including at the C-suite level
  • High degree of judgment and discretion. Comfortable handling sensitive information and navigating complex organizational dynamics
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance executive communications, strategic research, and narrative development. Must demonstrate the ability to effectively leverage AI to enhance workflow speed and output quality while maintaining high integrity through rigorous validation, data protection, and accountability for final outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Able to synthesize complex inputs and translate them into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Prior experience in a Chief of Staff or comparable strategic advisory role supporting a C-suite executive at a public technology company (preferred)
  • Background in or deep familiarity with marketing, brand, or corporate communications (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Communications or Marketing, or equivalent experience
