PIndigenous is Pinterest’s community for Indigenous employees and allies, connecting people, nurturing growth, aligning with the business and driving community impact.

In 2025, our community embraced our Native American Heritage Month theme “Live in Balance,” all year long. This theme reflects Indigenous teachings about harmony with nature, community, and self and connects to the Medicine Wheel, the symbol for finding balance amongst the mind, body, spirit and emotion. We’re thrilled to look back at the moments of celebration, education and connection that made 2025 a landmark year for PIndigenous.

Native American Heritage Month (NAHM) 2025

Our month-long celebration for NAHM brought “Live in Balance” to life by creating space for employees to reflect on this core teaching. Key activations included:

  • Panel Discussion: Acclaimed Indigenous writers and artists Tommy Orange, Julian Brave NoiseCat, and PeShaWn Bread explored storytelling, growth and transformation in contemporary Indigenous life in a panel discussion hosted by Petala Ironcloud.
  • Fireside Chat: We were excited to host a conversation with designer and founder of B.Yellowtail, Bethany Yellowtail, who shared her journey of carrying culture through fashion.
  • Virtual Nature Walk: This activation encouraged employees to engage with Indigenous views on environmental stewardship by sharing pictures of and information about the land they were on.
  • Community Celebrations: We broadened our global footprint with in-office social gatherings in Dublin, San Francisco, Atlanta, Seattle and Mexico City and partnered with our Food team to provide weekly themed lunches in our US and Toronto offices.
  • Virtual Quiz: An engaging virtual quiz on Native American history and culture encouraged learning and offered prizes for the winners.

Expanding Our Footprint & Impact

Beyond NAHM, PIndigenous drove impact and visibility throughout the year:

  • Santa Fe Indian Market: We proudly sponsored a major weekend activation with Indigenous Futures 4Ever/4KINSHIP, centered on a fashion performance titled "Rebellious Threads: Upcycled Luxe and Indigenous Roots," spotlighting Indigenous creativity in fashion and art.
  • Global Awareness: Our team represented Pinterest at AISES 2025, engaging hundreds of attendees to build meaningful connections with those interested in learning more about our work at Pinterest. We also proudly hosted the first-ever PIndigenous events in Dublin and Atlanta.
  • NAIDOC Week @ Pinterest Sydney: Our Sydney office honored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices with a special Creator Junk Journaling Activation led by a celebrated Indigenous artist, and a powerful "yarn" session with an Aboriginal Elder.
  • Cross-Cultural Dialogue: In celebration of Pride Month and National Indigenous History Month in Canada, we partnered with our Pride@ employee resource group to host a virtual fireside chat with the award-winning actor, director, and activist, Devery Jacobs (Reservation Dogs, Marvel's Echo).

Recognition and Our Leadership

We were excited to be recognized by the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) as a Top 50 Workplace for Indigenous STEM Professionals, a testament to our ongoing commitment to inclusion and belonging.

A huge thank you to all our leaders who make this possible:

  • PIndigenous Leads: Brodie Gullic, Eric Lopez, and Siddhant Mohapatra
  • Executive Sponsors: Jordan Skye Paul, Amira Dallafior, and Bill Watkins

We look forward to continuing to nurture growth and drive community impact this year. Pilamaya! Thank you!
