Program overviews
The Pinterest Apprenticeship Program is an opportunity for candidates who face barriers of entry into the tech industry to experience engineering at Pinterest. Apprenticeships are up to one year long with the opportunity to be considered for conversion to a full-time engineer. Employment throughout the program is at will, and while programs can be up to one year in length, there is no guarantee on the specific length of the program. People who identify as women, Black/African American, Latiné or Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, and/or Pacific Islander and LGBTQ+ are especially encouraged to apply.
What we’re looking for:
- Candidates from non-traditional tech backgrounds, including but not limited to: coding bootcamp grads, candidates looking to re-enter the tech workforce, self-taught coders, or candidates without a Computer Science degree
- Self-motivated and eager candidates with a passion to learn to code and curiosity to learn what it’s like to work and succeed as an engineer at Pinterest
- Experience working collaboratively and clearly communicating in a professional work environment
- Proficiency in at least one programming language
What you’ll do:
- Work alongside other Pinterest engineers on a tightly scoped, high-impact project
- Collaborate with an assigned mentor who will help you navigate the technical challenges associated with being an engineer at Pinterest
- Continually grow — professionally and personally through various learning and development opportunities

Apprenticeships are up to one year long with the opportunity to be considered for conversion to a full-time Product Manager. Employment throughout the program is at will, and while programs can be up to one year in length, there is no guarantee on the specific length of the program. People who identify as women, Black/African American, Latiné or Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, and/or Pacific Islander and LGBTQ+ are especially encouraged to apply.
What you’ll do:
- Work alongside other Pinterest Product Managers and key partners on Engineering, Design, and Research teams on a high-impact project
- Help set the product vision and strategy, define goals and requirements, and drive insights and wins through experiments and analysis.
- Collaborate with an assigned mentor who will help navigate the challenges associated with being a Product Manager at Pinterest
- Continually grow — professionally and personally through various learning and development opportunities
What we’re looking for:
- Candidates looking to start their career in Product Management or re-enter the workforce, including but not limited to PM bootcamp grads, candidates who are self-taught, and those who do not hold a degree or related professional experience in Product Management roles.
- Experience working collaboratively and clearly communicating in a professional work environment
- Self-motivated and eager candidates with a passion for solving user problems and curiosity to learn what it’s like to work and succeed as a Product Manager
- Strong analytical problem solving and decision making skills with experience analyzing metrics and making data informed decisions

What you’ll do:
- Work alongside other Pinterest Product Designers and key partners on Product Management, Engineering, and Research teams on a high-impact project
- Learn about the design process, starting from ideation and exploration, all the way to executing and implementing with Engineering.
- Collaborate with an assigned mentor who will help you navigate the challenges associated with being a Product Designer at Pinterest
- Continually grow — professionally and personally through various learning and development opportunities
What we’re looking for:
- Candidates looking to start their career in Product Design or re-enter the workforce, including but not limited to design bootcamp grads, candidates who are self-taught, and those who do not hold a degree or related professional experience in Product Design roles
- Experience working collaboratively and clearly communicating in a professional work environment
- Self-motivated and eager candidates with a passion for solving user problems and curiosity to learn what it’s like to work and succeed as a Product Designer
- Practical experience using design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Photoshop or Illustrator

- Work alongside other Pinterest Researchers and key partners on our Design, Product Management, and Engineering teams on a high-impact research project
- Use qualitative research methods, such as usability evaluations, individual interviews, and diary studies, to understand user needs and product opportunities
- Collaborate with an assigned mentor who will help you navigate the challenges associated with being a Researcher at Pinterest
- Continually grow — professionally and personally through various learning and development opportunities
What we’re looking for:
- Candidates looking to start their career in User Research or re-enter the workforce, including but not limited to UX research bootcamp grads, candidates who are self-taught, and those who do not hold a degree or related professional experience in User Research roles
- Experience working collaboratively and clearly communicating in a professional work environment
- Self-motivated and eager candidates with a passion for solving user problems, excitement to practice qualitative research methods, and curiosity to learn what it’s like to work and succeed as a Researcher
- Demonstrated knowledge of qualitative research methods
