Throughout the month of April, the Life at Pinterest team is joined by three of Pinterest’s Impact Ambassadors – regional leads who will support planning and execution of volunteer work within local communities. They’ll share more about their Pinterest journey, taking on this new volunteer role and why they’re passionate about giving back. Next up, meet Lisa Sapien, Sr. Workplace Operations Specialist based in Mexico City, Mexico.
Hi Lisa! Thanks for joining us today. Can you share more about your role as a Sr. Workplace Operations Specialist in Mexico City?
Hi there! It's hard to believe that I've already been at Pinterest for two years! My journey started when a recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn; I still remember how shocked I was. Pinterest's culture and dedication to creativity and innovation immediately appealed to me, and I knew it was the right place for me.
I work as a Senior Workplace Operations Specialist in Mexico City. My job is to make sure our workplace is both efficient and enjoyable. This includes managing facilities, coordinating events, implementing sustainability practices, and responding to the needs of our team. The variety of tasks I encounter every day keeps my role exciting and challenging.
What I love most about my job is the opportunity to make a difference in the everyday lives of my colleagues. Creating a positive and engaging workplace atmosphere where people feel inspired and supported is incredibly rewarding.

We’re excited that you’re one of our new Impact Ambassadors! Where did your passion for giving back to your community originate?
I am truly grateful to have been selected as one of the new Impact Ambassadors! My passion for helping others started at a young age, when I assisted my Grandma with her illness by accompanying her to appointments, running errands, and providing care. These early experiences instilled in me the importance of family and community support. Witnessing my Grandma and Mom extend their help to neighbors and friends further emphasized the significance of community and the positive impact that even a small group of dedicated individuals can make. This belief has continued to strengthen over time, fueling my passion for community engagement and my desire to make a difference.
What are you hoping to accomplish as an Impact Ambassador or what are you most excited about?
Being an Impact Ambassador is incredibly exciting! I'm particularly looking forward to connecting with other passionate individuals who share a commitment to giving back. Together, we can inspire even more people to engage with and contribute to our community. My goal is to initiate and participate in meaningful projects that not only support those in need but also foster a stronger sense of community and connection among us all. I'm eager to begin this journey!
You also shared that you’re a member of our Pride@ Pinclusion Group. How does Pride@ support your employee experience at Pinterest?
My involvement with the Pride@ Pinclusion Group at Pinterest has been incredibly rewarding. For the first time in my career, I am able to be open about my identity without fear. The group provides a safe and welcoming space to not only express myself authentically, but also to connect with colleagues who share similar experiences and values. Through these connections, I've gained valuable insights and support, leading to personal and professional growth. Pride@ has truly enriched my experience at Pinterest by fostering a culture of inclusivity.
Okay, we have to ask. Which room in the Mexico City office inspires you to do your best work?
The Mexico City office is a beautiful space (shoutout to the Design & Construction Team), and it's hard to choose just one favorite spot. However, the Library is definitely one of my top picks. It's a space filled with books, Mexican decor, with a record player and vinyl records, where you can enjoy some quiet time while listening to your favorite music. I think it's the perfect area for some self-reflection and focus.
