About Pinterest:

Millions of people across the world come to Pinterest to find new ideas every day. It’s where they get inspiration, dream about new possibilities and plan for what matters most. Our mission is to help those people find their inspiration and create a life they love. As a Pinterest employee, you’ll be challenged to take on work that upholds this mission and pushes Pinterest forward. You’ll grow as a person and leader in your field, all the while helping users make their lives better in the positive corner of the internet.

We're looking for someone who's intellectually curious/fast learning, rigorous, likes Content and ML problems, and enjoys the idea of not only discussing graph embeddings with active researchers in the space, but finding the common thread among many eager customers. Want to build the systems for ‘how we should build and adopt signals’ across Pinterest, and have enough experience to get why that’s not trivial? Great!

What you’ll do:

  • Help ensure the assessment, health and quality of our signal ecosystem - do we know how good it is? What is ‘good’ for content signals? Is it good enough to hand to the Shopping team to shop on? How do we scale it?
  • Establish effective cross-functional processes to anticipate, understand, prioritize and exceed the needs and requirements of customers, especially strategic planning
  • Be a trusted partner to execs/senior leaders; mitigate risks early, and grow out our investment in this area; align our ingestion strategy and our organization
  • Get the best tools we have for content understanding to customer surfaces quickly - and build processes to make sure we can get the latest research out to production quickly painlessly and with adequate review
  • Work with stakeholders and effectively execute all aspects of the program management lifecycle, from conception and planning through execution, delivery, support and deprecation

What we’re looking for:

  • BS in a technical discipline or equivalent experience (4+ years in a technical or analytical role)
  • 5+ years experience in a technology management role (engineering manager, product manager, program manager, chief of staff or technical consulting engagement manager)
  • Strong technical breadth and judgement - ability to quickly ramp up and go deep on a range of technologies, ability to identify technical risks and tradeoffs
  • Comfort with a fast-changing environment and ability to manage ambiguity
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally to identify opportunities and deliver solutions
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, organizational awareness, and ability to persuade others to accomplish program objectives while holding yourself and your team to a high standard of accountability
  • Prior experience in machine learning, content ecosystems and signals is a major plus, but not an absolute requirement
