As our Head of Design and Construction you’ll partner with our Global Workplace Planning and Insights and Global Workplace Services teams to provide oversight of our current and future portfolio of projects and define, develop and implement design standards for our offices around the world. We’re looking for a highly motivated, team oriented, and organized individual with a strong interest in design and experience in project management. 

What you’ll do:

Design:

  • Responsible for “future thinking” as it relates to Pinterest office design.  Develop principles and guidelines to ensure that Pinterest offices meet the demands of a post-COVID workforce
  • Works with architectural and project management consultants to develop consultants to maintain consistent on-brand aesthetics when designing office space
  • Ensures consistent application of design, programming and space planning processes
  • Responsible for design intent communication and management of design consultants toward project completion within schedule and budget
  • Advances design standards to incorporate best practices and lessons learned for efficiency and scalability, towards shifting design trends and Pinterest growth
  • Knowledge of contract furniture systems and design eye to specify furniture for each project
  • Drives the design program with cross-functional stakeholders such as security, IT/AV, culinary and Workplace Services

Construction:

  • Responsible for building a portfolio dashboard for capital projects.  Ensure timely and accurate reporting of scope, schedule and budget variables for all global projects
  • Oversees projects to ensure client goals and objectives are established and achieved
  • Monitors and maintains a framework to review progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets and timelines
  • Communicates status and risks to stakeholders. Resolves potential risks
  • Owns capital plan development, cost forecasting and management
  • Manages relationships with relevant stakeholders, including Brand, IT, Security, Culinary, Workplace Services, etc.
  • Develops vendor strategy to utilize the appropriate resources in each market, depending on the market and the need

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years experience working in commercial interiors office design
  • Experience supporting companies with global real estate portfolios
  • Someone who is skilled in stakeholder management, executive presentations, diplomacy and influencing outcomes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Budget management and cost estimating expertise 
  • Vendor Management of Architects, Project Managers and General Contractors, Signage and Graphic Designers
  • Experience with global project implementation, with expert understanding of design, code & construction process
