We’re looking for an inspiring, globally-minded Head of Global Consumer Marketing to help Pinterest bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love. 

Reporting to the CMO and working closely with cross-functional leaders across the company, you’ll lead and mentor a small but mighty team of marketers, campaign managers, social media experts, storytellers, and agency partners in clarifying and then amplifying our story to the world. 

This is a role like no other, at an especially exciting moment in Pinterest’s history. Our business is thriving, our user base continues to grow, and we believe the impact of this role can fuel our company to grow in unprecedented ways.

You’ll be in a position to take a brand that’s beloved by those who use us, and misunderstood by those who don’t, and reshape the narrative to increase comprehension while underscoring our purpose. You’ll be able to tap into important social issues to define Pinterest’s role in the world, especially at a time where people are rightfully questioning the role technology plays in their lives. And you’ll be able to ensure we are not simply reacting to culture, but indeed striving to shape it ourselves, for the better. 

This is a full-time position based in SF, but charged with building an iconic, global brand.

You will:

  • Establish the global consumer marketing strategy for the company;
  • Refine and articulate the Pinterest narrative to inspire more pinners to use our platform for more use cases more often;
  • Lead the AOR relationship as we concept and develop compelling integrated marketing campaigns;
  • Concept breakthrough partnerships and ideas to amplify our share-of-mind;
  • Recruit, develop and motivate a team whose mission is to help inspire the world;
  • Build strong relationships throughout the company to help unify our narrative and amplify our mission internally and externally

You are:

  • A leader who can lead by doing; you can’t resist the urge to practice your craft by rolling up your sleeves and working alongside your team to unlock creativity that delivers against the strategy;
  • A respected marketer and storytelling that deeply understands both the art and the science of the craft. 
  • A conceptual thinker who has created breakthrough campaigns in the past and has a portfolio bursting with great stories that produced great results;
  • A mentor who is energized by growing others’ careers and knows how to motivate a team
  • An inspiring communicator that represents marketing work, builds trust and influences alignment of our vision across marketing, PR and product design 
  • A believer in our mission of bringing everyone the inspiration to create a life they love

You have experience:

  • 15+ years managing teams with a track record of shipping inspiring, well-crafted work across multiple mediums—print, web, mobile, video, experiential
  • Delivering compelling written and verbal stories in front of audiences of all sizes (you are long past stage fright!) 
  • Experience at a consumer tech company (for at least part of your career)
  • Experience at mission-driven brand-building
  • Deep literacy around both brand and performance/direct-response driven marketing tactics
  • Deep expertise managing both external agencies and internal creative teams and getting the very best out of them
  • Inspiring a team to bring conceptual ideas all the way through to fruition
  • Working across consumer, business, global and internal audiences a plus
